Accessibility policy

The company LichtenSTERN falls under the exemption regulation for micro-enterprises (in the sense of the BFSG: “Less than 10 employees and less than 2 million Eur annual turnover”). Nevertheless, we are continuing to develop our website and are adopting the requirements of the Accessibility Reinforcement Act.

In implementing the accessibility requirements, we are also dependent on external plugins being made available to us within a reasonable period of time and on economically justifiable terms. As soon as these are available to us, we will continue to improve accessibility.

This website has been tested for compliance with EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.1. There are currently still some restrictions regarding embedded PDF documents, old “alt texts” for images and the contrast ratio and font size.

The following standards were observed and complied with wherever possible:

the conditions of the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0),
the guidelines for accessible web content (WCAG) of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the W3C,
valid CSS,
valid HTML code.

We endeavour to make our website accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Disability Equality Act (BGG) and the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

This accessibility statement (published on 17 June 2025, last updated on 4 July 2025) applies to the version of this website currently available on the Internet, which has been developed in accordance with applicable Internet standards.

Which areas are not accessible?

We endeavour to provide all new PDF documents in an accessible form. This means that screen readers can read them aloud without any problems. We cannot subsequently revise older PDFs, as they are usually not accessible. Similarly, PDFs from other providers that we link to are often not accessible.

As things currently stand, not all video and audio files in our media library on YouTube have subtitles or transcriptions. YouTube offers the option of activating automatically generated subtitles, but these do not always accurately reflect the content.

Individual content elements used are provided with fixed heading levels that do not always match the hierarchy of the rest of the page or skip individual levels. These modules are currently being revised. We are also supplementing the large number of images that have accumulated over the years with easy-to-read ‘alt’ text descriptions.
